Ingredients

Metabolae Ceylon Cinnamon uses a simple formula built around Ceylon cinnamon extract and MCT oil.

Below is a breakdown of the main ingredients and what they are used for.

Ceylon Cinnamon Extract

Our formula uses Ceylon cinnamon from Cinnamomum verum, also known as "true cinnamon."

Ceylon cinnamon is different from Cassia cinnamon, which is more commonly found in grocery stores and many supplements.

One of the main differences is that Ceylon cinnamon naturally contains much lower levels of coumarin than Cassia cinnamon.

We use a concentrated extract instead of standard cinnamon powder. This allows a smaller amount of extract to represent a larger amount of raw cinnamon material.

12:1 Extract

The Ceylon cinnamon in the formula is supplied as a 12:1 extract.

A 12:1 extract ratio means that approximately 12 parts of raw cinnamon material are used to produce 1 part of concentrated extract.

This makes it possible to provide a concentrated amount of Ceylon cinnamon without using a large quantity of raw powder.

7,200mg Raw Herb Equivalent

The 7,200mg figure refers to the approximate amount of raw Ceylon cinnamon represented by the concentrated extract.

It does not mean that each serving physically contains 7,200mg of cinnamon powder.

The raw herb equivalent is used to describe the strength of the extract in relation to the original plant material.

MCT Oil

The formula also contains MCT oil.

MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides.

In this formula, MCT oil is used as the oil-based carrier inside the softgel.

It helps create a practical and consistent softgel formulation.

Softgel Capsule

The formula is delivered in softgel form rather than as loose cinnamon powder.

Softgels provide a consistent serving size and are easy to take as part of a daily routine.

Simple Formula

We prefer to keep the formula straightforward rather than adding unnecessary ingredients.

When choosing a Ceylon cinnamon supplement, it can be useful to check the botanical species, extract ratio, serving size, raw herb equivalent, and additional ingredients listed on the label.
